A Note from Mozambique
Hello Erin and all other Campaigners;
From here in Chimoio, Mozambique we would also like to extend our warmest thanks and gratitude for your energy and intention over the past 40 days. I also find it significant that our campaign happened to end with the new moon and the close of Ramaden, which are both significant here in Mozambique.
Next week we are opening our new Creativity Center for the Support of Orphans. We are in prayer to receive the First Lady of Mozambique as we open (it just "happens" she will be visiting orphanages in our community next week). I've attached a photo of the new creativity center and a couple of our latest doll designs. The women have been working hard to get a good pattern for the dolls so that we can start to teach the girls.
It's been a fun and exciting time as we experiment with different hair styles and body styles and clothes - really fun stuff and these women are all volunteering their time and have even begged to come in on weekends. That is some really fun energy.
Also, we have been registering orphans every day to participate in our programs which is also lovely energy and last week we taught an HIV course along the side of the road. It was only and hour and 10 minutes but we started with our assigned group of 30 and by the end we had more than 70 people watching and asking questions and wanting to know about HIV. They loved the dolls and we have found them to be a totally effective tool in teaching HIV awareness.
At this time, we are still a bit too small and too underfunded by know all things are opening in our path as they are intended to and soon someone will recognize our work with the dolls and the 1-2-3-4-5- system as a significant breakthrough in HIV awareness for Africans.
Again we bless you and thank each and every one of you for your support and intention - I wish each of you could be here to glimpse and feel the energy here on the ground with these children. Though it is sometimes challenging, it is always tremendously rewarding. If you would like to receive our updates from Mozambique, please contact me at africamy2@yahoo.com and I will add you to our Kodak photo gallery and our e-mail list for updates.
Blessings and grace from the small heart of Chimoio, Mozambique
